Routine Ships
- Global Fuel Consumption: 350 Mt/year (*Estimations of 2010)
- Ship consumption: 20-80 t/day
Tankers
- Global Transport of Petroleum Products: 1000 Mt/year, of which: 900 by sea
Production of Ship Waste (*Marpol-Annex1)
- Slops: Ballast water and tank washing (5% of petroleum products freighted, including water)
- Sludge: Fuel residues from the engine room (1%-2% of bunker consumption)
- Bilge water: Mixture of oil and water accumulated in the bottom of the vessels.
